FIVB President Wei Jizhong said that the 2010 Beach Volleyball World Championships will be held in Iran’s Kish Island.
The Chinese official, who has come to Iran to assess Iran’s sports facilities, said Kish Island has great potential for hosting international tournaments.
“Kish Island has a high standard of facilities. I think there is no obstacle for holding the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Kish next year,” said Wei Jizhong.
He is also expected to meet newly-appointed President of Iran’s Physical Education Organization Ali Saeidlu and Iran’s National Olympic Committee Head Mohammad Aliabadi.
The Iranian volleyball federation officials will also present their offer to Mr. Wei Jizhong to host the 2011 Men's World Junior Volleyball Championship
