GLENELG volleyballer Bo Soderberg won the second round of the National Beach Volleyball Series at the Bay yesterday. The Danish athlete, who has lived and trained in Glenelg for the past eight years, combined with teammate Anders Hoyer to beat Adelaide pair Joshua Slack and Chris McHugh 2-0 in the men’s final at Glenelg beach. The win was Soderberg’s second of the series after he won the same event in Round 1 in Newscastle.

Meantime, rain kept many of the expected 20,000 crowd away from beach, with about 7000 spectators attending over the three days. But about 1000 spectators were present for the finals matches despite the weather, with fans filling the grandstands and spilling on to the promenade.
